Waste Valve

I can't push my black water valve all the way in. It's about one half inch from seating fully. Anyone ever have this problem? Is there a simple fix? I'm pretty handy and not afraid to replace the valve if necessary. But not if it's something stupid I'm missing. I understand that it's most likely a 3" valve, right?

Thanks,

Jason

Nothing jammed in the receiving side of the Knife valve? ( like TP )

Try some WD40

It took about and hour, but a Camco dual flush helped clear mine....

If that fails check this video out.....start at about the 3 minute mark.

I read that WD-40 wasn't good in this case.

We filled the black tank about 3/4 full and drained everything. Still won't close completely. I think the seal is un-seated. Feels like something rubbery when I push the blade in. Probably just buy a new valve and install it. four bolts and a little stinky. How bad could it be?

I ordered the new valve off Amazon (metal handle this time). $14.48 with free Prime shipping. I'm really not afraid of the install. I will do a SUPER good flush and throw some baking soda down the drain before I get started. I think I have some plasti-dip laying around too. Good idea!

On a side note, if you shop Amazon, check out smile.amazon.com. It's Amazon's fund-raising site. Anytime you buy something they will make a donation to a charity that you choose. Costs you nothing. I am donating to the Brevard Schools Foundation. I work for the local school district and they help us out a lot! Just a thought.
