Water Pressure

What psi do you guys regulate to?

There is a 40-50 psi regulator from Camco. There is a 50-55 regulator from Valtera. There are also adjustable regulators with a gauge (that cost much more).

Any feedback is appreciated. I have the Valtera one but I'm wondering if its too much PSI. I want to take extra care of my Jayco.

As long as you stay under 60 PSI you should be fine.

I use an adjustable regulator set to 50 PSI.

I set mine on 50. It's a Watts residential filter.

The set 40 to 50 psi unit is not enough to get a decent shower. I seriously doubt that they give you 40 psi. Had one and threw it away. The higher psi vaultera is the one that we have used for several years. We like it a lot. I bought it with the intention of getting an adjustable model. It worked so well that I dropped the need for anything else.

Adjustable set to 50, but it usually settles around 52-53.

I am going to get an adjustable with a gauge that is accurate. I have found you need atleast 50 for things to work right. I discovered those hose end ones are not that accurate and tend to lean on the 40# side...

Something like this?

Watts Water Pressure Regulator

I'm having trouble figuring out if I can use it. It seems much more stout than the Valterra version, but it says "Gauged version adjusts from 0 to 60 lbs. These valves are especially designed for units with self-contained water supply tanks"

????

The regulator itself is probably pretty good. Watts makes some good stuff.

However, I would disregard the description given. It was written by someone who has no idea how RV water systems work. This regulator has absolutely nothing to do with the on-board water tank.

I use the Watts regulator from RV Water Filter Store: Standard Filter Canisters for Whole RV and regulate at 50 psi.

I have an older style with dual gauges, pressure in and pressure out.

I would be a bit leary of that. I have not seen a Watts regulator in that configuration before and the specs do not mention the flow rate. There are no reviews either.

I think you would be better off with a regulator from a reputable company that supports the RVing industry.

So it appears it is a real Watts regulator but they do not even list flow rate on their site. It is listed under their "small capacity" section. They do list the following :

Series LFH560 Mini Water Pressure Reducing Valves are designed to reduce incoming water pressure to a sensible level to protect plumbing system components and reduce water consumption. This series is ideal where a small economical package is required such as on special industrial process applications, miscellaneous plumbing applications and OEM equipment. Series LFH560 are suitable for water supply pressures up to 300psi(21 bar). The LFH560 features Lead Free* construction to comply with Lead Free* installation requirements.

LFH560 Lead Free* Mini Brass Water Pressure Regulators with Hose Connections, Water Pressure Reducing Valves - Small Capacity, Water Safety & Flow Control - Watts

Wow those other regulators get a lot more flow through them.

Watts New Lead Free Adjustable 263A-LF Regulator, but with stainless steel exterior parts kit listed below installed, 2" diameter 0-160 gauge, 4-4.5 gpm

Looks like that one is a winner.

This regulator IS on the site you reference and the specs ARE there.

Mine is more like this, Shop Watts 3/4-in Brass Female In-Line Water Pressure Valve at Lowes.com
except an older model.
I adapted it to fit on a water hose with brass fittings.

Are you guys concerned with lead-free regulators? RV hoses safe for drinking are lead-free, so shouldn't the regulator be the same?
