Water pump failed

My water pump isn’t working. Both switches in bathroom as well as control panel are lit and on but I get nothing. I verified it wasn’t 12v fuse at the end of the bed because kitchen lights are working (says same fuse). Can anyone tell me physical location of my water pump and any other ideas? I’ve read a lot that it shouldn’t be failing already, so hoping there are some DIY remedies to try before taking it in.

Find it and clean the input strainer screen. Simple to relieve water pressure, unscrew the cup. Clean the screen and reinstall.
Look at the videos at this link for information.

Finding it now that it is not working will be the challenge. It should be in a compartment, follow the water lines. Should be near the utility valves.

2016 Greyhawk 29MV - water pump is in a compartment under the bed. It is in a separate compartment from the converter and inverter. As mentioned above, it is very near the water control valves. Let us know when you find yours.

Mine died last fall and it took me a few attempts to figure out the problem. Did you check the 40A fuses? My 40A fuses in the power panel had blown. Remove the fuses and physically check them.

This trouble shooting list is from the Shurflo website. PUMP WILL NOT START/ BLOWS
CIRCUIT
√ Electrical connections, fuse or
breaker, main switch, and ground
connection.
√ Is the motor hot? Thermal breaker
may have triggered; it will reset
when cool.
√ Is voltage present at the switch?
Bypass pressure sw. Does the pump
operate?
√ Charging System for correct voltage
(±10%) and good ground.
√ For an open or grounded circuit, or
motor; or improperly sized wire.
√ For seized or locked diaphragm assembly

I would try cleaning the screen filter first before going through this recommended diagnostic process. Once you locate the pump, removing the screen and cleaning it takes just a few minutes.

I had a similar problem a while back. I pulled the screen, gave it a good flush and cleaning, reinstalled and I was back in business. It took a surprisingly small amount of "debris" to cause a failure IMO. When I took the screen out, I didn't even think it was blocked, but I could feel grit on it when I ran my finger across.

Okay. Due to military requirements I had to leave until Friday. When I’m back at the unit I’ll give it a go. I appreciate all the suggestions so far. Awesome to seem such a helpful community. I’ll update my post after I get going with this.

Found the water pump. Mine is under the master bed in a box. I have to take about 6 screws out to take the top off the box, looks easy enough. When I turn on the water pump switch in the bathroom I can hear it turn on, so seems a fuse or minor electrical issue could be ruled out. When I get home tonight I'll do the filter cleaning that has been recommended.

No problem for the service. I love what I do

OK, if you hear it run, disregard EVERYTHING in my post above. Power isn't the issue. If it runs continuously, and there's enough water in the fresh water tanks to draw, check for low point drains closed, winterizing hose valve closed, and outbound valve from pump open. Outside shower closed. The pump should run a short time to prime, and then slow to a stop until you open a faucet or flush the toilet. Lastly, the bypass valves on the back of the HW heater. If they're in the right configuration, maybe your pump is running a bunch to fill the heater. That will take a LONG time, before any water eventually gets to a faucet. Good luck, and let us know if it helps.

Okay. So super simple issue. Glad it’s easy. On the left side there is a cap with a metal screen. It’s filthy. Took screen out and replaced cap to see if the clog was easy fix and works right away. Bringing screen inside to give it a good cleaning and throw it back in. Awesome. Thanks guys!!

Do that once a year and you are set unless you camp somewhere with sandy water supply and no filter.

Glad you got it goin'! I find if you check the simple things first, that's often where the problem is. When I had this problem, I came to the forums looking for the answer, and found mention of that filter. I thought surely that couldn't be it because the trailer was relatively new. But I thought what could it hurt to check, and it won't cost me anything. Turns out I'm glad I checked and cleaned that filter. Free fix that took about 10 minutes, can't beat that!

For reference, I had the EXACT same problem. I could hear the pump running, but it would never pull enough water to prime up and pump. I cleaned that little screen (and like I said, it didn't even look dirty enough to stop the flow of water), and was right back in business.

I drive mine more than the normal person, but at about 14 months, it suddenly sounds like a jackhammer when you turned it on. Of course, my Jayco warranty is out, but the pump had a 2 year warranty and my repair guy replaced it free.
