Water tank vents mod to keep from losing water

Hey guys,
After reading several posts about the water in our holding tanks siphoning and surging out of the vent hoses and having the same experience, I came up with a solution that may work. Understanding that the tank needs to vent out when filling and vent in when using the pump for your on board water, I extended the three vent hoses to the back of the motorhome and fabricated a bracket with three, 1/2 turn valves on it. I then added a note in the wet bay to remind myself to open the vents when filling the water tanks and a small sticker that just says vent above the water pump switch. That way when we want to pull water from our tank, just open one of the valves. When the pump is shut off, go out and close the valve. Same with filling the tank. Open all three valve till if is full and then shut them.
Less than $20 in parts and a little time.
Also these will keep the mud daubers out of the vent.
Marc

We did these 1/4 turn valves to ours in 2016.

I just put rubber stoppers in the vent tubes (remove one when filling) but I also added a one way check valve just upstream of the rubber stopper to let air in if I forget to remove the stopper before running the pump. I just tested it a few days ago.

Sometimes people forget to follow their own reminders . . .

It looks like the Redhawk SE has 2 fresh water tanks.... one under the bed and one behind the drivers seat under the dinette inter connected by a blue PEX . The 3 drain lines are off of the tank behind the drivers seat.... I had a plumber friend fab this ball valve rig for me. On test runs around the hood it works fine. test run dry camping Tuesday - Thursday of next week for a moderate shake down run. And yes, reminder stickers at the water control valves, at the coach control panel above the water pump switch and on the dash....
