What are these valves?

Keep in mind this is a 1997 Eagle; there are no longer any manuals available. You guys and gals are the only source of information I have.

I was looking around under the sofa bed today trying to find the source of a very slight, pesky freshwater leak. I know enough to know small leaks never get smaller, only bigger. Since I could not see what I was taking a picture of with my phone, this is the best I could get. I could only point the phone in the general direction and press the button.

You are looking from the top down. The grey on the bottom of the picture is the freshwater tank. The white-ish stuff on the top is a heater conduit. The entire space, bottom to top, is about 8 inches. There are three valves, completely unmarked.

The top valve (on the right) is connected to an open-ended tube that runs along the top of the tank. Again, open-ended, it does not connect to anything. I can't begin to guess what this one is for.

The second valve down is connected to the freshwater tank. I assume this is some kind of main shut-off valve but no idea why it should be used. Would it have something to do with the city water supply?

The third valve, which can barely be seen, is at the end of that grey tube from left to right in the picture. It sits on the floor and has the appearance of a lowest-point valve although when I lifted it no water drained.

So, here's my question(s). What are these valves for and when should they be opened and closed?

One more question: Anybody know where I can get a manual?

Have you clicked on the big menu button at the top of the page that reads "MANUALS", and look for yours there?

I have no ideas about your valve situation.

Yep. Did it again, just now. All 4 pages. Oldest listed is 2006 or 7. Any other suggestions?

Hey SmokeyBear, maybe you can find a manual here that's at least close to your model.

Just my experience that the Jayco manuals are always zero help in these situations. They're always way too general. Never go into these details.

That white pex pipe, in the middle, that goes to the water heater?
If so, any chance these are bypass valves of some kind, in case one needs to replace the heater???

Sorry.
Not much else to suggest

wild guess...but I'll try....

Bottom valve open and top closed fresh water tank feeds water system.

Both valves open tank fills with city water, when connected.

Bottom closed and top open, city water feeds RV.

No. Unfortunately, Jayco also used the Eagle name for a pop-up trailer.

Nope. Those are all for pop-ups.

Thanks for your suggestions everybody. I will see if I can trace down the white line. Actually, all the lines.

Question. Does the clear hose that doesn't connect at one end have enough range for it to stick into a gallon jug of antifreeze? One of the valves may open the system for that, and close off the pump to the freshwater tank. Our TT has two valves next to the pump like that for winterizing.

The third valve has me stumped.

Yes it is. It's 2 1/2 to 3 feet long. That, perhaps, explains that valve and hose. I wish I had known about these before I winterized. Sure would be nice to have a manuel.

Thanks to your help and suggestions, I think I've figured it out.
  • The top valve with the tube to nowhere is most likely for entering antifreeze into the system as JflightRisk suggested.
  • The middle valve shuts off the flow into the freshwater tank, thereby forcing the antifreeze into the system via the pump. Again, just as JflightRisk suggested.
  • The bottom valve is most likely a low-point drain.
  • The flex tube goes to the inlet of the pump.
I still haven't found where the leak is although I suspect it is after the outlet to the pump. That will require some more investigating after I put water back into the freshwater tank. I run it dry after each use to fill the black and gray tanks before draining.
