Yes I been racing since mid 60s, loading and unloading a car is no deal. I'd just rather have my car on a trailer, can back up 1/2 mile if I need. More protection for the car. Fooling with towbar, hooking brakes and lights, my motorhome had a towbar setup on it when I got it. It cost more than a trailer. Also a good dolly cost more than my trailer, granted I have a friend in the fabrication business that built it for cost of materials. Also I take a Mini Cooper S and it is not good for a towbar or dolly either. I race a Nostalgia Super Stock 67 Buick GS400, we travel with the NMCA east of the Mississippi. Also, run with some other groups. Most all people I race with have Motorhomes, just like camping but get to race also.

Wow sounds exciting Buick gs 400 that’s something I never heard of .I towed a trailer with gmc Terrain on it as well I just camped out with my motorhome .Definitely felt like a big waist of money using tow behind thing.GM does not recommend towing AWD Terrain they only FWD can be towed behind anyway .

Hooking up the jeep to flat tow take 15 minutes. A trailer is a PIA especially when you get to a campground and then have to find a place to park it in that space that you rented for an RV and car.

Just picked a 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid to replace my 2012 Honda CRV for toad.
Installed a tonneau cover to protect the Lectric bikes and Elevate rack system to carry our Micro skiff catamaran. Just click on Neutral Tow mode and turn the key off leaving it in the ignition and go. No steering wheel lock.

I bought my first MH for 1500, wasn't bad. Fridge didn't work. Put a new one in it and was good to go. Second one for 9k drive it 100k+ miles. Then the last two won't talk about, but got a deal on both since they were motivated sellers.

We have 2017 Jayco Greyhawk 29MV. We tried traveling one year without a car and realized we needed to tow. I looked into flat towing and there is a lot of information out there on what and what can not be towed. To make things simple I bought a 2016 Nissan Micra 5 speed transmission. From my research any car with a standard transmission can be flat towed. It weighs less than 3000 lbs and I barely feel it behind the motorhome. Towed it to the east coast of Canada (4,000 miles) and it comes to Florida every winter.

We were gonna tow a smart car, but you’re limited to 2 passengers, so we opted for a ‘14 Fiesta that holds 4 , + has a hatchback for storage. Gets 37 mpg too. At 2600 lbs its simple to tow.

We love our Nissan. Easy to set up and tow not to mention having it at the campsite! Enjoy!

I have an Entegra 30z and tow a 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid Titanium package. Very easy to set up to tow. I just go into settings and press tow mode then head down the road. It is nice having a comfortable car once you get to your destination to drive that gets great mileage.

I am considering the purchase of a 2017 Jeep for sale in my are to use as a "Toad". This Jeep is owned by a individual who previously towed it behind a M/H that he sold. It has everything needed for towing, Blue Ox 10k tow bar, with all electrical hook ups plus the wired in braking system. The only draw back it is a standard shift, I would prefer a automatic. Question: Although Jeeps with automatic transmissions can be towed with no problem, would a standard transmission be that much easier....
