I went to the local Towmaster dealer and they installed everything that need to be on the Honda. Required taking off the front bumper and doing some wiring. Didn't want to do it myself and I don't think I could have and I am handy, I also got the Defender to protect the toad. Six years and noit a spot. When the towbar is removed there is very little to show it was there. God luck

Just a follow up. I bought the Roadmaster baseplate for the CRV, the sterling all terrain tow bar, easy brake, toad charge, and went with the extra bulb kit instead of diodes. The baseplate install was very straight forward and only took a few hours. I modified the 7 pin wiring harness so I could use the toad charge without having to run an extra wire from the Greyhawk back to the CRV as their is a charge line coming back to the greyhawk 7pin connector.
There is plenty of room in the CRV rear light housings for the extra bulb sockets, so that made things easy. The most difficult parts were in fabricating a mount for the easybrake controller and the toad charge components.
Also got the Protect-a-tow, a very nice product to save the toad from rich chips, turned out to be a good thing as we ran into some road construction that took us over loose gravel roads for about 15 miles on our trip.

We drug the CRV to Yellowstone, and back through the Tetons, the tow set up worked very well, the braking system worked well without customization to the settings and the toad battery stayed charged throughout the trip.

We tow a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe 4x4. It tows well. I notice it on long grades and when starting out. (Note: we had the sub-frame beef up done and new hitch installed to allow towing of up to 7500# and. 750# of tongue weight.)

We just "invested" in a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with auto transmission and hard top. Putting off until next spring to get it set up to tow.

Did you ever decide what to get? I hope you stayed away from the Mini Cooper. Dealer (BMW) voids warrenties for any towing options. The 2013 Toad Guide is a great resouce. I was looking at the Fiat 500 or 500L as a possible replacement for my Toyata Matrix that I pull 4 wheels down since Toyota stopped making them for 2014.

We tow our 2003 Ford Explorer Sport auto 4WD. Had to install a neutral tow switch for the transfer case, then it was good to tow. Installed Roadmaster equipment, have not had any problems.

We tow a 2008 Hyundai Elantra on a Roadmaster 2000-1 dolly with tire pressure/temperature sensors on all wheels including the spares. Don't even know it's back there, but when backing the dolly will go where the dolly wants to go!

We too tow a Jeep Wrangler (2007), not the most practical vehicle but it sure is fun. From the beach to the Blue Ridge Parkway to the fire roads in the U.P. everywhere is more fun topless.

Still considering the Mini, Fiat 500 and now VW. All convertibles. Leaning toward the Fiat 500.

We just picked up a 2006 Cooper S convertible with crazy-low miles. Haven't set it up to tow yet, but I haven't had this much fun with my daily driver in a long, long time. It's a hoot!

Recently finished setting up our 2013 Ford Explorer to tow 4 down. Just pulled it 1100 miles and, suprisingly, the mileage didn't change at all. The V10 has plenty of power. On the other hand, towing a vehicle has made the already poor handling so much worse.

Yeah, I kinda worry about the impact on handling. Our 3230 has such a ridiculous rear overhang - makes me wonder about how much the toad will be wagging the dog...

Oh, and it will take gas station maneuvering to a whole new level. I'll have to be far more strategic...

We are getting our 2014 Honda CR-V set up in the next week or two to tow behind our Greyhawk in preparation of some fun summer trips.

No kidding, when I am pulling our 2007 Tahoe I REALLY have to plan ahead so I don't get into a spot I can't get out of. Also the back goes the opposite direction for quite a distance which is quite weird to see.

As long as you don't overload the rear and keep some weight on the front axle you should be fine. We toad a GMC Canyon 4wd crew cab with our 01 3230 and it was fine. The gas stations can be a little tricky, but we never got in a jam in 7 years.

Towed our Jeep wrangler last weekend and it added miles to the odometer. We're getting conflicting answers as to whether it should or shouldn't tack on miles. Are we doing something wrong? Luckily it was only 30 miles.

Auto transmission key in Acc.

Did you put the transfer case in neutral?

We had the transfer case in neutral and the gear shift in park. Followed directions in the manual to the letter.
