What would you do

My wife and I are wanting to buy a 2016 Greyhawk but because of the vibration issue we have put off getting one.

Now my question is this would any of you purchase a Greyhawk knowing of the issue and hope Ford or Jayco would fix the problem correctly when they decide who is responsible for the problem?

My best inner voice tells me not to buy one,I think I should listen, but we are so excited about being retired and traveling we kind of keep looking at each other waiting for one of us to say lets do it.

What concerns me is the problem has been know about for at least 2 months by Ford and Jayco and it is still not fixed.

Your last line says it best.

I would suggest that you listen to the person that is going to be paying for or making the payments. After all you will be the one that has to live with your decision.

I was in the same boat, but they had a 2015 left that was the same floorplan as the 2016 I was originally excited about. I chose the 2015.

Maybe you can find a 2015 in the floorplan you like at another dealer?

Save money. Buy a '15. This time of year you might get a smoking deal.

I would postpone purchase until the problem with the 16's is identified and fixed.

Forest River has reported that perhaps a fix to the vibration problem may have been found. At least that's what they are saying on their forum and they have a factory rep that participates in the thread.
I'm guessing the same would hold true with Jayco then. Here is the link to the thread.
2016 E-450 Vibration issue - Page 5 - Forest River Forums

I'm in the same boat as you Vagabond. I'm debating between the Greyhawk and the Forester. The vibration problem is common to both but the Greyhawk has the added problem of the tank less hot water heater. They had the chance to ditch it for 2016 and go back to the tried and true tank system but they seem determined to hang on to it.
I think I already would have decided on the Forester because some of the other options. Slide out awnings are standard. I really like the system used for heating the tanks and valves. I live in cold weather which means short camping seasons and something like that could extend my season up to a month.
But I can't get the local Forester dealer to get within $10 grand of the price quoted me from the Jayco dealer.

A lot has been made out negative regarding the tankless system. Mine works flawlessly. Really - follow the directions to a 'T' and make sure you have a Watts regulator.

Thank you. Whats a Watts regulator? I think I read here that Jayco went to a different manufacturer for the tank less heaters for 2016. I emailed them asking about this and a few other things last week but have yet to get a response.

A Watts water regulator is one that regulates PRESSURE but not FLOW. The tankless system needs adequate flow to function. Lots of folks use the little $20 jobs to regulate their pressure. And that's fine if you don't need a lot of flow. Those cheap regulators are really FLOW regulators that have the unintended benefit of also regulating pressure.

Grab the Watts New Lead Free Adjustable 263A-LF Regulator. Set it to 50/55 psi and forget about it.
