Just for clarity, I love my Jeep in all other respects and have not had any problems with it other than death wobble. It tows great behind my Redhawk 24B, about 9-10 mpg on the Redhawk, if I’m not pulling in the Sierras (where I drive a lot). Great toad if I can just suss out the occasional death wobble on it, it would achieve perfection for me as a tuff true SUV.

Then I add the total weight of my '06 GMC 2500HD with full gas tank, boat, motor, spare 5 gal. propane tank and 100 lbs. for misc. which is 6,265 lbs.

I get a total weight for the two vehicles of 18,060 lbs.

This is close to 4,000 lbs (2 tons) less than the 22,000 gross combined weight.

I don't know what I am missing if its not possible/recommended to do this.

Can anybody shed some light on this?
What is the hitch rated for? That will be your limit (legally).

7,500-pound hitch with 750-lb tongue capacity, although the tongue capacity does not apply to a TOAD.
