We made a late May trip to Yellowstone with both sets of in-laws in a great big caravan! The kids loved having both sets of grandparents there to spoil them about as much as the grandparents did! Got some decent photos, too! http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/me...lbums1448.html

Yosemite Here We Come

We'll be there all next week. It's a two-day drive for us (WA-OR-CA).
Staying at Friendly RV Park on the way down.
Five nights at Yosemite RV Resort in Coarsegold (outside the National Park).
Staying at Riverpark RV on the way back.

summer trip

Leaving Sunday the 18th for cooler-anything to the north for 8 or more weeks. Got the free national parks pass for Canada's park 150th anniversary. Reserved 5 nights in Netarts Bay, OR near Tillamook. Got the travel stuff for the Al-Can Highway if we feel like it. Temperature 112 degrees Sunday, 114 Monday, and hitting 116 (est) on Tuesday. To 108 degrees today. It's a dry heat, but still hot.

The morning we headed home from Yellowstone, it was 27F. We don't get as hot as you do, here in S. IL, but it's still a pain to open the door of the RV, when you get home, coming from that to 89F and 90% humidity. -Definitely takes a lot out of you!!!

Left northern Cal, near the Ore border 5 days ago. Headed to Buffalo, N.Y. Driving the Melbourne 24K and towing a 13 year old grandson and a Jeep wrangler. Also, one wife and a small dog. Crossing into Utah today and heading for S.D. to see the stone-headed guys and then on to Yellowstone and all points east.

I prefer Walmart to the truck stops. A lot quieter.

Long Trip

We just returned from a ten day stay at West Yellowstone, took three to get there and another three to get home. Truck never missed a beat and trailer performed as expected. When we left West Yellowstone it was snowing and 32 degrees, so that made it interesting and had a great time.

We (me and DW) are headed to Tennessee in August in the hopes of seeing the total solar eclipse on August 21st. We booked a CG for a week that is located in the path of the eclipse. While we are there we will visit sights such as Nashville. Anyone else going to see the eclipse near Crossville,TN?

We will be staying put as it comes directly through our area, here in S. Illinois! They're making a huge deal out of it, too. A local winery / venue has booked Ozzy, who will begin his set as the eclipse occurs. Should be something very exciting!!

California or Bust

From Delaware to Custer, MT.Rushmore,Needles,Crazy Horse, Then off to Yellowstone 4 nights. Then off to Lake Tahoe. Next stop Yosemite! Took 49 South. Not recommend. It was a white knuckle ride the whole way in a RV(Redhawk26xd). Should of done more research! Took wife a couple days to recover. Switchbacks no guardrails went on for 50 miles or so! Yosemite was great, but too crowded. Yellowstone better in my opinion. then to San Francisco, then to Carmel, Monterey, Big Sur. 28 days 6700 miles. Home on June 18 Great trip!! Wife, 2 dogs One we had to drug the whole way. He is in rehab now..

Just booked a 29 day trip around New York state from Southern Ohio beginning July 9th.
Niagara Falls, 1000 Islands, Lake George, Watkins Glenn and Letchworth SP.

Hopefully we won't hit too many storms along the way :-)

NJ to Taylor Park Colorado and to Marysville Utah. Not sure which we will do first. We will be pulling a 23 ft enclosed trailer for the quads. Guessing 10 to 14 days depends on how tired we are from riding.

Just returned from round trip to Oregon and back to Florida 6,741 miles in my 2016 Redhawk 29XK. No problems, except for stone hitting windshield and cracking it.

Due family illness, inlaws, we have curtailed or cancelled our longer trips this year except for a month in October. We have reservations in Hiawassee, Ga for 2 weeks and then 2 more weeks in Waynesville,NC.

This has not been a good year for our camping desires.

Better days are coming!

Our big trip of the year is already in the books.

We left Lafayette, LA on May 22nd headed for Moses Lake, WA. We tried to cover no more than 325 miles a day. Over-nited at Walmart locations every other night (worked out very well). Once we experienced Moses Lake and Yakima, WA, we worked our way to Utah (Ogden, Salt lake City, Moab, Bluff), CO (Cortez), KS (Dodge City, Kansas City), & MO

Over all we traveled through TX, KS, CO, MT, WA, OR, ID, UT,& MO.

It was a great trip (returned home June 1st). The coach operated flawlessly. Met some wonderful people along the way.

We experienced very serious winds in south Idaho and Utah. The winds serious effected the handling of our coach so we slowed down to 45mph as we watched fifth wheelers flying by. Somewhere on US 50 east of I-15, a fifth wheeler paid dearly when high winds flipped the whole rig on it's side, sliding down the road. Totally destroyed the trailer, damaged the truck. Law Enforcement was already on the scene. That day was our only negative day.
