Towing a 2009 Smart 4-down. It has an auto trans.

It requires a battery disconnect switch.

Too late to edit the original post but sequential manual transmission (SMT) or basically a manual transmission without a clutch. Nothing special to tow 4 down.

Currently we're towing a 1994 Jeep YJ (Wrangler) 5-spd 4.0L. SUPER easy to tow, just hook it up, shift TC to neutral and we're off. It's okay as a TOAD, but it doesn't have AC, so the windows and doors pretty much HAVE to be off which isn't fun when it's raining. Up side is that getting sand in it at the beach is no big deal, and it's fun to drive (so long as it's not too hot).

Our long-term plan is to tow our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Had to shop around a bit to ensure it had the right transfer case that can be shifted into neutral. This one should be almost as easy as the YJ to tow, but setup is much more expensive; that's why we haven't done it yet. By the time I'm done with it, it'll be hookup, shift the TC into neutral, drop the brake in and we're off. AND it blows COLD AC, AND I don't have to worry about rain, AND it's 4WD with a low-range transfer case, so it can go plenty of places. Cleaning out all the beach sand will be a bit more difficult...

Since October of 2015, we towed a 2016 Chevy Traverse AWD. In March of 2018, we purchased a 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 4WD. We tow either one has to the need.

We tow a 2016 Subaru Forester (Manual Trans.) We have over 15,000 miles of towing. No issues, no fuses to pull, no limited miles per day, no limited speed.

Does it have electronic transfer or do you have to do some hocus pocus with pulling fuses, starting every 500, or ??

Tow Toyota yaris on trailer

Seems we periodically need to back out of some place so we found a single axel car carrier works perfect with our Yaris. Loads quickly and tows like a dream.
