When should inverter work?

We have a new 2015 Greyhawk 31FK. And we seem to be confused about when our inverter should work. What we have found is it the inverter only works when the engine is off and we're just drawing power off the house battery. Is this the way it's supposed to work? I guess I was thinking an inverter would power the TV anytime. You're not on shore power or generator power and that it would draw from the house batteries and that the engine while in motion would have a charging effect to them.

The inverter works all the time, the TV is what shuts off. Our Government at work so the driver isn't distracted.

Here's the thread on how to fix it.

There are two ways to "alter" it so that it is always on. You can cut the wire to the relay that disables the plug or you can rewire the plug to take the relay out of the mix. I chose to rewrite the plug as I can make it "factory" again very quickly if needed. Took about 5 minutes to do.

The DOT SAFETY RULES are made for a reason. Your insurance may not pay off in your favor if mods are done to the units to override DOT safety rules.

Seems like every time I go around the rules KARMA hits me in the head hehe...

Just saying...
