Winter storage

I'm sure this has already been covered. Have a 2019 Entegra Odyssey 31L (basically a mix between a Greyhawk and Redhawk). Last winter I left the shore power plugged in 24/7 and had no problems. This year I'm thinking about putting it on a timer running 5 hours every night. Starting with topped of batteries and everything turned off do you think that's enough time to keep 2 12v deep cycle batteries topped off. The only thing on inside the RV is the breaker switch and the red light inside it. Only on because I'm not sure if the batteries charge if it's in the off position. Everything obviously winterized so no heat source needed. Thanks in advance. 4 months and counting until the 1st trip up here in NY. Happy New Year folks!

If i don't remove batteries for storage I typically place a trickle charger on them and it monitors them in cold weather and charges as needed. But your way would probably work too depending on how cold it gets each night.

Your converter/charger is just like a battery maintainer. It'll go through its charge cycles automatically, so I believe a timer would interrupt the cycles to the point it restarts on the bulk charge all the time trying to keep the battery at 14.5 volts, and not go into the float or maintenance modes.

I do know that even a quick power outage resets our Battery Tender. Just me, but I would leave it plugged in to do its thing.

That makes alot of sense. Didn't think of that. I think I'll do just that.
