Winterizing 2021 Redhawk First time

Hello,

I am winterizing for the first time. Temps here dropping down to 20’s in next few days. What’s imperative at this time? I will add antifreeze as needed how about removing house battery? Propane shut off? covering rv etc.

We have a 2019 redhawk 22j. Follow the owners manual, make sure low point drains are closed. We do not use the coach inline water filter. Coach came without a filter cartridge so just pump in antifreeze the 12v pump will push the water out of the water filter housing in process of winterizing. Water filter housing is in place where drawers have to be rmoved which is impossible with slide out in. We use an external water filter. We have coach plugged into 30a outlet in our garage all winter to keep both coach and chassis batteries charged, check them for water every 6 weeks. Also run generator monthly with a load on it for an hour. I use shop vac as the load.BEEN RVING FOR 30 YRS AN NEVER COVERED ANY OF OUR UNITS, JUST KEEP IT WASHED AND USE CERAMIC SPRAY FROM MEGUIARES. HOPE THIS HELPS....

I don't remove our battery but I do have solar that'll keep it charged all winter. Just make sure it is either disconnected *completely* or has a trickle charger of some sort. You don't want it to discharge completely.

Yes, shut off the propane.

I bought a cover for our first RV. Total PITA. Our second one doesn't have a cover.
