I have had similar issue. I had to briefly crack open the low point drains to kick-in the AF suction. I think it mentioned it in my manual.

Check the water hose going into the pump and follow it to the wall that you put the antifreeze / fresh water house into. I had the same problem and turns out my hose was bent in half and would not allow fluid in. Must have been how they installed it.
