Wintrizing 2008 jayco melbourne
I have been winterizing this rv for a few years now and all has gone well. I have always had difficulty understanding the "hot water bypass" concept. In my rv there are three valves in front of the hot water heater, one on top, one on the bottom and one in the middle. My understanding is that the tap in the middle is used to bypass the hot water heater so that it does not fill with antifreeze. My problem is that I never understood what taps should be on and which should be off. Also, are they off when in the cross pipe position and on when aligned with the pipe? Then, how should they be set when pumping the antifreeze from the outside to the sinks and toilet inside? The other thing is that I think I followed the directions for winterizing by turning the valves to their appropriate position (for winterizing and sanitizing) and then putting a length of hose into the antifreeze, turning on the water pump and the antifreeze should be pumped through the system thereby winterizing the RV. Although the pump sounds like it is working nothing happened when doing this. Any suggestions??? Winter is coming.
