Wire Loom

I was crawling around underneath the RV today checking things out and came across this. It's a wire loom that was resting on the exhaust. It's the 120v line that runs to the receptacle in the right front storage compartment. it pays to check things underneath every once in a while.

Geebus H.......

Yeah - I've crawl around under mine with wire ties pulling things up too. So far, nothing resting on the exhaust.

Same on mine. Fit and trim good else where. But underneath what a mess. Zip ties and tape. Shake my head when I crawl under there, what workmanship!!!!!

First time I looked under there I saw a rust bucket with 1800 miles on it. Called Jayco and bitched. They asked for pictures and they stepped up to the plate. Paid for soda blast, undercoat and paint.

It pays dividends if you do thorough inspections on a regular basis... Good catch here for sure. Could have been a pain in the butt if left unfound.

Ditto!!!

Pre-checks, post-checks, re-checks!!!! There is a reason, even when you find nothing wrong.

And every once in a while, another set of eyes looking things over.

Great catch for sure. That wouldn't have ended well. A little inspection trick we use for aircraft is have your gloves on, and as you look at everything touch it. You can get quite a surprise with things that look secure but are actually loose. As bad as that looks, I would take a look at the wires inside make sure their ok.

I found my exhaust shield had chewed a hole in my heat mat for my fresh water tank. That was an expensive and crappy design for me
