There are plenty of posts on the +/- of having a spare and I researched all of them, thanks to those who contributed. Now it's my turn to return the favor.

Whether to "spare or not to spare [tire that is]" is a subject with lots of opinions and experiences shared by Jayco owners.
Like most of today's RVs mine did not come with a spare and it bothered me every time I started on a trip.
Last year we purchased a spare and the elements of a tool kit. This made me feel a little better but I was still not satisfied with the solution.

We stored the spare above the cab on top of a cardboard slide with the tire covered in plastic, as a temporary solution. This made it even harder to get into the passenger seat coming from the house.
I set out to find a better solution and this week I completed the project. I figured I would share the journey and results.
FYI: the spare would not fit under my 26Y
