Lucked out bigtime !

On our 2013 StarCraft 265RLS a rear stabilizer (I call it landing gear) motor bit the dust after about 7 or 8 up and downs. The motors made by Lippert sound like they are full of loose aluminum gears or ball bearings that are that are starting to seize. I knew that unit (motor) had a short life span.

We have an RV repair facility not far from where we live. There was a unit brought in that had the landing gear bent up. Owner forgot to retract and started to drive away. Crunch, crash, all those sounds that mean $$$$$$$. That TT may even be totaled.

I priced my replacement Lippert motor-----$397.00----No way ! I will crank it up and down by hand.

The owner said "pull that motor off of the demolished gear and you can have it"------At 75 crawling under my trailer in close to 95 degrees is not fun, but old / new motor works just fine. $6 for new bolts and accessories. My bride LUVS me again. That is important.

A problem that I and others have had is the rubber grommet where the power leads go into the motor. Water has a way of getting in that opening and causing corrosion.

The rubber grommet deteriorates over time. I cleaned mine up when I saw the rubber torn and sealed it with Liquid Electrical tape.
