Room darkening shades?

The DW and I don't like to wake up at the crack of dawn, but the stock pleated shades on our 24rl don't do much for darkening the bedroom. Anyone come up with any ideas of how to make our retreat darker later in the day? I know we could drape a towel over the valence but something a little more esthetically pleasing would be nice.

You can purchase darkening shades. or, put a cheap roll up shade from wally world behind the current shade. Or, make darkening drapes that pull side to side, using a tension rod.

We cut covers for all our windows with this:

https://www.amazon.com/Camco-45164-S...+window+covers

We just cut it to fit inside the window frame and press it in. This stuff is great for keeping the sun out in the mornings and keeping the radiant heat out during the day if needed.

We did the same thing, we purchased ours at a big box home store. It comes in a big roll and available in several widths.

IF your looking at the "Amazon fix" above just go to the local hardware and buy some silver bubble wrap in bulk .. much cheaper.. I did that to all my windows.. cut each one 1/8" oversize so friction holds it in.. then when I don't want it there it pulls out easy...

A bedroom exterior door and a window face east at out seasonal site. The first morning we slept there the sun coming in was aweful! We put a Camco RV door sunshield over the door window (fits perfectly, attaches with supplied velcro). For now, we just hang a towel over the valence of the window.
