Snowbirds !

Hi Gals & Guys:

Due to budget constraints, a god send is the America The Beautiful Pass. Being particular to Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds, we spend quite a bit of time at Raystown Lake in PA. With the pass we come in around <$15> a night for a site.
We have tried for 8 years to get a site during the winter, around Lake Okeechoobee (Stuart Florida)----result ; batting average .000

Until this year---LUCK ???---We collared two 14 day stays at St. Lucie South. Army Corps rules dictate after 14 days you must vacate 16 days before you can re-apply to the same facility.. Bingo ! we hit the second one. The 16 days we are filling in at a County Campground (also looks nice) AT $25/ DAY.

A major bonus is when we leave S.E. Florida, our kids are sending us to Ft. Wilderness for a week to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Maybe there is a thing called LUCK !

St. Lucie South has only 9 sites, but they look really nice. I have attached a picture. A question. Has anyone stayed here or your thoughts would be appreciated.

Congrats on the site! Looks pretty awesome from above!

More importantly, congrats for making it a remarkable 50 years together.

Army Corps of Engineers

A2Z----Thanks for the compliment. Actually my wife should get the Purple Heart for putting up with my antics, for 50 years.

Talking about cost for camping-----Staying at the ACE / COE campground in Florida, will cost $105 / week. Now compare that to Disney (Ft. Wild) at $105 / day. Glad our kids have good jobs.
