Torx T20 8 point? Need help!

I'm working on a project on my TT and the screws that I need to remove appear to be Torx T20 type but instead of the normal 6 points, these things have 8 points. WEIRD!
I've checked my local sources for a bit or screwdriver and come up empty. I've also looked on the internet and had no luck there either.
Is there another name for this fastener other than Torx? Has anybody found a bit or screwdriver to fit these screws?
I really don't want to drill them out.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Pawpaw

Try a #2 square tip bit, IIRC that will fit the 8 point.

#2 Robinson bit is another name. It's square.

Glad you got a work around for this. The screw sounds like a torex security screw, I bought a set of them at Harbor Freight

Usually the square bit will work just fine. However, you can order 8 point "tamperproof" bit set from Sears... special order only, and you have to be very specific....

I ran into this same deal with our cargo trailers. Same screws. Went straight for the torx set with no luck, grabbed the #2 Robinson square and no problem. Thanks Seann45 and NVGun40 for clarifying what they are. I never owned a set, never really needed them, but at least I know where to get them now.
