Washer on Atwood heater drain
“It looks like I have a worn donut-like gasket that encircles the plug hole on my Atwood Heater. It has adhesive of some sort holding it to the tank around the drain. Is there anything I should know about replacing it?”
From several drainings of a full tank the rushing water thoroughly wet the outside of the heater on its way to ground. Depending on the level of the trailer, I guess, some of the water seeps beneath the worn washer below the plug and enters the trailer floor. I assume the manufacturer’s spec should be good but I haven’t found it listed as an available part to order - I suppose it is an integral part of the tank itself.
Has anyone experienced this issue?
What type of caulk or putty is best?
Thanks
