Anderson Rapid Jack-do they work? Sorta.

Bought one at the RV show inHouston and just got around to trying it out.
I’ve got 16” rims and a CRE 3000 equalizer. With just the RJ it would lift the 2nd tire free - but only “just”.
I’m parked on a 2x12 and if I pulled onto the RJ to the point that it was ready to fall off the end the other tire would turn but was dragging, so not enough lift to be useful.
In the attached pic I’ve put a few 2x4’s under RJ to get a little more elevation. This config worked well enough that I will keep it (with the 2x4’s) in the 5th.
I actually had 2 RJ’s to work with (borrowed my neighbors) and was able to lift one axle at a time.
Could be handy for installing wet bolt, servicing bearings and the like.

I had the same issue, and mine didn’t come with a rubber pad so it kept scooting across the pavement when I tried to drive up on it. I used a sacrificial dish towel under it to give it traction and had to let some air out of the spare to get it on after removing the flat tire. Now I also carry a short 2x6 with bevels cut on either end so it easy to drive up on and stick it under the “jack” to give me more lift. Thank goodness I keep a 12v Vaiir compressor in my tow rig at all times.

I’ve had similar sliding issues with my “LEGO” blocks on a concrete surface. Mine came with the rubber mat. Dish towel was a good idea. I had an issue with the RJ sliding on the 2x4’s (solved with the rubber mat) then the 2x4’s sliding on the 2x12, your idea would have solved that. I got around it but will keep your idea in my back pocket.
