Awning fabric/color

Last winter camping in SoCal the wind took out my awning and screen room. Insurance covered the replacement.. I paid for the upgrade from vinyl to acrylic. White fabric was not an option so I went with my favorite color (blue) BIG MISTAKE.. sitting under the awning in the sun the awning radiates heat down and makes it like sitting in an oven... so if you need to replace your awning fabric go with white or lighter shades.. nothing dark ( I knew this before but did not think it would be this bad)

We've been wondering why Jayco would put an all white awning on. Sometimes a pain to keep clean, but does reflect the heat. Guess we'll stop cursing the guys, now!
