I went with the Honda 2200i because it uses a 121cc engine while almost all other 2000 watt brands use an 80cc. That’s 50% more displacement for the same rated output, which means it’s not working nearly as hard.
I run a 15k but A/C with an Easy Start installed and works fine. I keep the fridge on propane like others have mentioned.

I didn't need dual fuel, but SuperGen has them new and refurbished.

Here's the one I bought:

A good friend of mine has one and loves it. And the support from Champion is great.

Little extra up front now will pay off for years.

Actually the power plant in the Predator is supposedly made by Yamaha. I camped last weekend at Phoenix and there were Predators all over the place. The guy two spots south of me has a Honda at home, prefers to bring the Predator because it gets 'better fuel mileage'. Of the half dozen or so in my immediate area (Geico Flats C) nobody had anything bad to say about their Predators. The guy right next door had two Iu2000s tandemed to run his motor home. He reported the Onan mounted in the front just didn't cut is, as the rig is 34 years old. (Yes, a 1986 Bounder 32 foot from Ventura, Ca.) The Hondas handled it without fuss. He put his TOAD (1988 Toyota Tacoma) between my generator and his rig. One reason I got a quieter generator this week.

They were 100% 3500watt. Three different individuals said they use the same filters, spark plug, and assorted parts for the engine, including the muffler, as Yamaha power. I bought another B&S even though it's made in China, because of the three year warranty. Figure I had close to 1,800 hrs on the one I just sold.

I put in 800 Watts of Solar and 7KW of Lipo battery. I use a 700 Watt Propane Generator to keep the batteries up on poor solar days (less than $300 Home Depot)

I have (2) 1500 watt inverter circuits one of which can run my AC for nearly 18 hours with no generator use. As my 93 year old grandma says "Sean doesn't suffer well".

I have the Honda 3000. Friends have two 2000s daisy chained. Hindsight, I'd go with the two 2000s. More power, much less weight. Easier to store and move around. Use one for basics, fire both up for when you need extra power like the AC/microwave.

All pros and no cons. Works perfect, starts easy, runs quiet, sips gas, best customer service and no recalls.
