Hughes Power Watchdog EPO
I’m on my maiden voyage with our new White Hawk 26RK. We bought it a month ago and immediately put it away until our schedule allowed us to go camping. I’ve fixed a few minor things that always happen with new campers, too-tight door latch, etc. All is well.
When I bought the camper, the first thing I did was install a fixed-mount, 30-amp Hughes Power Watchdog EPO. I prefer the fixed version instead of the one that attaches to the power plug. Mine is always working, I don’t have to handle it when connecting the power cord and it’s less susceptible to weather or theft.
I installed it inside the cabinet just behind the power converter. All of the power readings and warnings are available on my phone via Bluetooth so I don’t have to have the unit exposed. It has a replaceable surge module, so I don’t have to replace the entire unit if a surge happens. Hughes will replace the module once if a surge happens in the first year and it’s only $30 after that.
So far, so good. The unit seems to be working well and my readings seem good. I’m happy to know that my appliances/accessories are protected from surges and voltage problems. It was well worth the price to me.
I’ve attached a photo of the current screen from the Hughes app.
