Overall sound inside, Furrion 15000 btu AC

Can anyone tell me if the unit creates an excessive amount of noise inside the camper? Can you talk over it in a group setting without much of an issue? I have never had one, but really did like my Coleman Mach in a closed setting. TIA

I was on a trip during a heat wave a few weeks back. I found my A/C Furrion 14,500 (same as 15,000) not performing well using the ceiling vents. I had not checked out my duct work for foil seals at that point, so used the dump feature to cool the camper. It is loud and turbulent, but I sure did appreciate that cold air.

I've since foil sealed my ductwork and installed the RV Airflow Systems diverter into my A/C unit. The sound reduction is expected, as you're not using the main dump. Once diverter is installed, the dump feature is no longer available and you must use your ceiling vents. This worried me because of how poorly they had previously performed, but after sealing them? Wow. My camper interior temp. got down to 66 degrees on a 97 degree day with full southern exposure sunshine. All of the cool air coming only via the ceiling ducts. The velocity was doubled and the noise level, even via the ceiling ducts and from the main unit is definitely reduced.

We have both the Furrion and the Coleman. The noise from the Furrion is about half the Coleman.

During the day we leave the Furrion running in the rear and set lower than the Coleman so noise up front is minimal except if the Coleman has to cut in occasionally. We HAVE to leave the Furrion fan running 100% because the thermostat for the Furrion is in the intake vent and won't work if air is not flowing.

During the night we turn the Furrion off and keep the bedroom quiet allowing the Coleman to do the cooling.

Thanks folks, The Coleman is certainly quieter and the thermostat is a basic and fool proof as anything in the industry. Now if I could figure out how the 12 volt frig turns on and off and the right combination of cooling and freezing from reading their manuals. What is it with high level degrees of perceived engineers that create and build this stuff that takes stuff that works properly and easily and totally modifies a basic on and off switching mechanism on electric components.

It appears that the mini lights stays on inside when the frig is off, if I am reading and viewing things correctly. But why, all this does is wear out the digital lights quicker, IMHO.
