My 2018.5 Seneca came with the Truma but not real happy with it. Looking to change it out to an Atwood XT 10 gallon this winter. The 2019 Senecas went to the Atwood so what’s that tell ya......

Why are you not happy? We're having issues with our Girard and was leaning toward the Trauma.

Well Jayco put the Basic model in and we boondock in cold weather and it says to “winterize” if temps drop below 41 degrees in the manual and that just doesn’t work for us. Takes way to long to get hot water to any faucet, average about 30 seconds and in the furthest away faucet which is the kitchen, the water temp only reaches 98-100 degrees after running a couple minutes. Checking into upgrading to the comfort model but being in Oregon I would have to pay labor and parts to have it done and it may be cheaper to just swap out to the Atwood XT myself which would also give us the ability to run the HW heater on electricity and not just gas like the Truma.

Truma comfort

We hated the Girard gen 1 and upgraded to the Truma Comfort and relocated it to under the stove in the Seneca HJ and less than 5 seconds for hot water - best money we have spent

My 2018 Seneca 37 TS came with the Truma Basic and we were happy with it. Upgraded to the Comfort so I can descale it myself. DW loves taking showers with unlimited hot water. I like that the Comfort gets the hot water to you even faster. Overall, so far very happy.

I’m getting my Truma upgraded to the comfort at the end of June. I think they told me around $500.00 for parts and labor. Truma would not sell me the parts you have to go through one of their dealers for installation. I will update how it works after the upgrade. Because right now I don’t like how much water we waste waiting for it to get hot.

The Comfort gets hot water to the shower in about 15 seconds and uses about 3 quarts of water.

I think about under 30 seconds. The Comfort cut the times in about half.

Being unhappy with my Aquago basic I contacted Truma and they are selling me the parts to upgrade myself. My contact gave me the parts list with numbers and prices (approx $300) and I have emailed the parts department to order them. Many people are saying the upgrade from basic to comfort makes a big difference so I am going to try that first before I make up my mind.

Well after attempting to order the parts I got an email this morning from my contact at Truma saying she had made a mistake and I would have to take it to a dealer
