This weather app is phenomenal!
I don’t make a habit of plugging phone apps, but I have to make an exception for one I discovered called “Weather on the Way”. I was looking for something iOS compatible to track weather on each leg of our recent 2,700-mile trip through four states. Rather than calling up NWS forecasts for various towns on the route ahead, this app does it for you. Simply type in your starting location, where you want to go and when you will depart, and it gives you precise temp, wind, precipitation and radar for every minute. It plots the route, with estimated time and provides alternate routes. Particularly valuable, it gives the latest NWS alerts, such as wind events or high temps.
The free version gives you the full plate of weather data for four trips. To do more, it’s $4.99 a month. Or you can stick with the basic free version. For us, it was a literal lifesaver. There were red flag warnings with possible gusts up to 50 mph on our trip. Looking ahead with this app helped us plan around them. Same with freezing temps at night. The forecasts and data were dead-accurate, too. Changing the departure day and/or time gave us a clear view of how the conditions would change on the way, minute by minute. And, did I mention it was extremely accurate?
The app has an elegant interface and is usable on an iPhone or iPad. (Don’t know if it is available n the Google store.)
As I said, I don’t have a dog in this fight — just like to point out products that work well for us Jayco travelers. Here’s a screen shot of a typical trip. There’s much more to it but you’ll get the idea.

Looks great - thanks for the tip. It looks like it is currently available for Apple products only but an Android version is coming soon. You can scroll to the bottom of their web page and sign up to be notified when the Android version is available:

I have tried many weather apps but haven't found any that are truly reliable. This one looks great but unfortunately I am an Android guy so I have to wait. Thanks for the heads up, I will check it out when it's available...

After I got it I had a minor question and emailed their tech support link. I received a quick email back, purportedly from the developer himself. Exchanged a couple of emails and I was impressed. Might be worth contacting them to see how far out the Android version is.

I downloaded the free version. Seems like a good tool when traveling.

There is a very similar one for Android called "Highway Weather".

The “pro” version is well worth the minimal cost (and you can drop it between trips). Getting accurate wind gusts for all points of the trip is worth it alone.

As do I, along with Windfinder, PG&E fire wind stations and NOAA real-time sites (hey, I’m a sailor). But this is the most accurate and user friendly I’ve found. You do get a free trial at first to see all the pro features.

Nambarc is only an expert when it comes to breaking wind. So no.
