weBoost - Cell Reception Boosting Device
I'm self-employed and like to stay in touch via a Hotspot during our camping trips but too many times I can't get reception. Has anyone used this booster?

I am interested in this as well. In my research these work well for getting a signal outside your rig to the inside but doesn't increase whatever strength it is getting on the outside. I would like to hear from more people that have used this though. I use ATT and one solution I was thinking of is a Verizion hot spot and just use whatever signal is the strongest.

We switched to Verizon a number of years ago. Before in the mountains of Northern Arizona we to were stuck with no reception. Verizon costs more but not having reception problems is worth it for us.

We have AT&T phones and an AT&T Unite Pro hotspot. The hotspot consistently gives us a stronger signal than the phones but there are times when the signal is so weak even the hotspot doesn't work. I understand that the weBoost doesn't work if you have "no service" but would like to see a strong boost of a really weak signal. Verizon used to provide stronger signals in our area (Northern California) years ago but AT&T has caught up to them so we aren't considering a different carrier.

Great idea but the $500 make me a little weak. I see them on fb advertised but do not know anyone who has one.

May want to do a search on YouTube under "weboost 4G-X RV". Many of the YouTube'rs have done a blog/video on the new weboost RV. Nearly all are saying good things about it but all mention it depends on if you are able to pull in an outside signal and how strong the signal is. I have been researching them for a while and the RV version is the newest and latest one out. If I used my RV more just than being a weekender like I am now, I would probably buy one.

Thanks for the tip, Dan. There are quite a few reviews.

Hey Ken,
MY wife works online and internet is an imperative when we travel; we have been using the weBoost for almost a year and it has worked great for us. I also mounted the Trucker Cell Antenna on the outside of the trailer and that really improves the signal boost. It doesn't help if there is No Service, but if there is a weak signal it does the trick.

I bought the weBoost 4G Connect for my Hunting Cabin last year. I have to be able to connect to work, if needed. We are 3 ridges and over 10 miles from the nearest Cell Tower. I have a Directional Antenna (included with Kit) on a old TV Antenna pole on Roof. It increased our Signal coverage from 1 Bar to 4 inside the Cabin. Both DW & I can be online at the same time w/ our separate devices without issue.
I have brought the Home booster unit & the indoor Antenna with us when we travel with the RV. I purchased a separate Omni Antenna and have it mounted on a pole that gets secured to the Ladder of the 5ver. As long as there is a signal we get good coverage in the 5ver.

Good to know, RSerendipity. I've read & heard a lot of good things about it and will probably buy one soon. YouTube has about a dozen positive reviews.

I have been using weboost 4G for about a year. I have Verizon for a carrier and use AT&T for my wife's phone. Weboost works as advertised but having both major carriers really makes for a more reliable system. We use which ever is the stronger carriers iPhone for the hotspot laying on the candy bar receiver of Weeboost. Works very well.

I would be cautious of the newest version made for RV's. The outside antenna is held on by suction cups and is more directional then the truckers antenna. Most reviews on You Tube don't think it is an improvement!

Thanks, Ela1948. I would mount it on the top of the ladder because I have a "no drill" policy and I certainly wouldn't trust a suction cup to hold during travel. I've watched several Youtube reviews and no one mentioned the directional aspect. In fact, one reviewer made a point to say it is omnidirectional.

Never tried one on the RV but I do have one on the house.
One thing I know - the Yagi (directional) antennas do MUCH better than the omni directional antennas.
But to use a directional antenna you have to know where the tower is relative to you.
There are a lot of resources mentioned on this page:
https://blog.weboost.com/news/blog/h...wer-locations/
And I used this to find the closest tower to my home and calculate the compass bearing.
But of course - the paradox is - you have to have an internet signal to find the closest tower to aim the Yagi antenna to get an internet signal :-).

You tubes RVwithtito mentioned about having to position the RV to get the best signal with the newest version of weboost. Him and loveyourrv both preferred the older style with roof top antenna.

According to RVwithTito it's omnidirectional. He mentions it a little before 4 minutes.

I stand corrected!! The antenna that I was referring to was the suction cup model that mounted on the Windows. Didn't realize Weboost had a April of this year update!!
