Westinghouse iGen2200

Since I can't seem to resist a sale, I pulled the trigger and ordered a Westinghouse iGen2200 inverter generator last evening. Sam's Club is running a special on them online until Aug 9th for $299 with free shipping. At that price, I had to order one.

https://www.samsclub.com/p/westingho...p_product_1_15

I am very interested to check it out once it arrives in a week or so. It looks strikingly similar to the Generac GP2200i that I purchased last year. I've been very pleased with the Generac and I can't wait to see how this cheap iGen stacks up.

For that price it’s worth checking out. I don’t even need a geny but I’m tempted to pick one up lol...

I suspected from the beginning that this was the same as my Generac GP2200i. No doubt in my mind now that they are from the same 3rd party manufacturer.

Here are some side by side pics.

The only notable difference is that the Generac has a 12 volt outlet in addition to the USB chargers. The Westinghouse only has the USB.

Nice find! Since they appear to be the same, can you run them parallel?

I am going to try. I'm probably going to order the Generac branded parallel kit. I like it's design a little better than the Westinghouse branded design.

If so, you’ve got a nice setup for a relative bargain!

I should be getting mine sometime this week. Did you fire yours up yet? How does it run. Quiet?

I'm running it right now. At about 6:00, the transformer blew on the pole feeding the farm house. West Penn power is here right now, but have the fridge running off of the Westinghouse and the freezer running on the Generac. Very quiet.

I know. It's funny how things work out sometimes.

They are just now hanging the new transformer at 11:30 PM. That generator has been running almost 6 hours now.

This "Pulsar" branded unit also appears to be the same.

I would love to know who is the actual manufacturer of these units.

Did you see the price on Amazon?$628 plus for a no name brand.
The Westinghouse is $299.

A little update. I ended up purchasing a parallel cable for the generators and finally had a chance today to try it out.

Here is the one that I ordered.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...0?ie=UTF8&th=1

It works great. Successfully paralleled the iGen2200 with my Generac GP2200i. Here they are running 2 1500 watt heaters.
