Actually, the tire and loading info sticker does list the payload of each and every vehicle beginning in '06 I believe it was. Will state "All passengers (occupants) and cargo should never exceed XXX(X)lbs". This is for each vehicle as it rolled of the assembly line, with the as optioned factory tires.

The owners manual or manufactures website may only give the payload amount for a base model, without any options. Add any options, and the payload goes down.

True, it does give max GVW but doesn't tell you what your vehicle weighs. To be spot on you need to go down to the scales and get your exact vehicle weight.

Also pay attention to axle weights, little more complex than oh it will tow 10,000 lbs.

Best bet, buy more truck than you need.
