100lb external propane tank

Hello all...

I am living full time in my 2019 pinnacle, and I need an external propane tank.

The RV campground allows a 100lb tank to be used. Since this tank will be external, do I need anything to keep it falling over in wind/snow etc..? Do you strap it? or in some way stabilize it?

I am planning on using a sturgis valve on side of the dual tank system, so that if the 100lb goes empty it will still fail over automatcially..

Last question... I am getting some rv skirting done, and it will also enclose the 5th wheel hitch area. Should the 100lb tank be on the outside of the skirting? or can it be in the "small room" created by the skirting in the hitch area?

I would not put the tank in the enclosed area. It needs to be kept out where it can vent if it happens to pop off pressure. Also leaks would build up and could get ugly.

Will they allow a 200 lb? Those will sit nicely and refilled by truck.

100 pound tanks are like acetylene or oxygen and should always be stabilized. The also should always be in open air. They can be refilled or exchanged.

As above, consider a 110 gallon tank if you can get one for a rental. Cost per gallon goes way down but there is a rental and possibly a delivery fee.
