10K Reese Revolution on Jayco Eagle

Ordered our Jayco Eagle with the Reese Revolution pin box on our 2014 33.5RETS. I was having some unhitching issues and was taking a closer look at the pin box when I discovered the decal identifying it as a 10K weight limit Revolution. My Eagle weighs 10,862 dry from the factory with another 1,133 for storage. Really????? The trailer exceeds the pin box rating before I put anything in the trailer. You're suppose to have too much pin and too much hitch, not the other way around. Not happy.

Has anyone else checked their pin box ratings and do they match the weight rating on the fifth wheel?

Different pin box (Mor-Ryde) but as a comparison, it is rated for 18k, well above the rigs 12,950 GVWR

Are you sure that rating isn't for the hitch weight - not the total weight of the trailer?

I have a revolution (although my 26.5 Eagle HT is considerably lighter) and I've never noticed a sticker on mine but I haven't looked.

I initially had some unhitching issues as well. The release handle wouldn't open unless everything was just PERFECT - just the right height, no pressure forward or backward on the hitch, etc. My dealer told me to be patient, that it always seemed to get better once the hitch got some use. He was right, After about 6 trips, I just flip the lever on my Reese Titan and the Revolution slips right out.

I too had problems of having exact alignment. The rig is 3 years old now with regular trips. I thought I figured it all out and then this last trip I couldn't get unhitched at a stop over so I could take the truck for fuel. When we got home I thought I would look closer at the pin box and noticed the sticker. It definitely states 10,000 lb max trailer weight. I just can't figure why Jayco would put a lesser pin box on a heavier fifth wheel.

I thought I would ask to see if anyone else has looked into this before I call Jayco.

Thank you for your reply.

All the Sidewinders, AKA Revolutions are rated at a minimum 16K. They are one in the same.
I would call Reese to confirm specs not Jayco. Have your serial number ready or if you can locate a part number, cross reference it with a Sidewinder #.

My 2016 Eagle HT 5th wheel is rated for 9950# GVWR max. My Reese Revolution pin box sticker states 16k max trailer weight and a max pin wt. of 3250lbs. Well above what is needed as I'm 9360# loaded ( Cat Scale ) and pin wt. approx 2000 #.
