13 months with my Pinnacle 2015 38FLSA

Hi Everyone:

Just an update on how the unit has been going. After one of my last post I was having problems with the slides being out of alignment. With the suggestions that were given to me could not get it realigned so dealer took care of it and no issues to date.

No issues with the A/C has been working good here in the Florida heat Average Daytime inside temp on hot and muggy days in direct sunlight 74/76 with both units on. (I was at Miami Everglades and Point of View RV Resort in Key Largo from Sept 3 to Oct 2 both spots had No Shade)

Question: On my last trip while in Key Largo had to leave 5'er in a storage yard due to my truck having a bad turbo. I just went back and picked it up this week and spent last 3 days in Miami Everglades RV resort. When I arrived I could not get rear and middle lever's to level up in Auto Mode. I reset and tried a few times with no success. Front would auto level and the others would make short moves but never making it to the ground and the system saying it was leveled. Manual mode could get the rear jacks down but not the middle. I checked all the connections and even reset the system but no luck. Anyone know where the rear sensor is located, to check the connection. I looked at the manual and on Lippert web site but could not find the information. Trying to avoid going back to dealer.

With only a few issues I can say overall I have been very happy with this unit.

Thank You in Advance for any suggestion's on the leveling system.

We put 2-3 of those orange/yellow square plastic blocks under each back leg.
The jacks don't have to travel so far before making contact.

Works for us.

On edit maybe I missed your issue with the middle jacks.

Good Morning:

Just an Update on how my leveling problem is going. LCI was nice enough to send me a new board. (Under Warranty) I installed it and had the same problem so they said to check the rear sensor. Problem now is I have no idea were it is located. (Any Clues?) I have a call into Jayco to see if they can help.

I would take to dealer but they are 2 months backlogged for service and my dealer is small and difficult to get into the service department with a big unit.

Also doing it myself I was able to clean all the crap left behind from the factory. (Wood chunks, wires, metal shavings, etc)

Also anyone know what tool to use for the underbelly. Its an 8 star screw and I can not find a tool anywhere. (Sears, Harbor Freight, Lowe's) Was able to remove the small panel (Sloppy work under there with insulation sheets) with a vice grip and replace with 8m screw.

Regards,

ER

If it's an 8-point screw head it should be a Torx. Easy to find in socket sets or as screwdrivers. if it has a nib in the center of it then it's a security Torx and you can usually find those as bits to fit a driver handle.

LCI can't tell you where the sensor should be located? They might be easier to contact than Jayco???? Good Luck

It is a Robertson bit pretty common in your tool box.

Shop Bosch 2-in Square/Robertson Screwdriver Bit at Lowes.com

Hi:

@ PlayersZ28 & North1 Thanks for info but still cant find it. Even went to Auto Zone and they only had 6 Star.

@ TexasRT. Yes LCI told me about 3 to 4 feet on the bottom of the frame but each manufacture use a different location, it is difficult to see the opening panel I have in the underbelly is small and just to the right of the tires passenger side behind entrance door. I got my head in with a flashlight to look around but sloppy insulation work makes it hard to see. The insulation sheet is all buckled up blocking view. Also to take the full underbelly down is a big project. There is one more larger opening behind the wheels on the driver side will maybe take down if I can find the right tool to remove screws that is hard with the vise grip.

Thanks Again for the help.

A #2 square bit is actually what they use at the factory.

You only need to remove enough to pull it down and look around with a flashlight. A #2 square Robertson bit is what you need. It's in most minidriver kits.

Grumpy Thanks it worked. Never thought to try nor did the person helping in the tool dept at Lowe's/Auto Zone offer that suggestion.

Norty Thank you also.....Went under but could not really see to well that can only pull down a little due to all the spray foam in the corners. The other rear opening was only for slideout Motor. Also just doing some general maintanance lubing the slides and I noticed crack under front living passenger slide.

I also called my dealer Orlando RV but no luck with them giving advise where the sensor is, but they can get me in 3rd week of Jan. 16. Lets see how long it takes Jayco to call me back.

Regards,

ER

Drill a very tiny hole at the end of the crack before it gets worse. Usually that will relieve the stress and minimize the damage. It will continue to grow if you don't. Ask the dealer what they think also.

Problem is that's a Factory Service Center repair.

That is sad to see and a con against fiberglass. 13 months. Granted, it is at a stress point but that is worrisome.

I too had the same crack on the passenger front slide, dropped it off at the dealer Sept. 8th and got it back Nov 14th, all work was covered by warranty.
Dealer said they had to remove the slide to repair it..

Sorry, don't know what I was thinking, Torx is 6pt not 8pt. Your screw is a double square. Odd that they would use that, but you figured out that a red Robertson would work anyway.

Seeing that crack means I'll be checking my trailer in the morning when it's light out.

Hi All:

For all who posted replies Thank You.

Sorry for not posting had a business trip to NYC. I did get a call from Jayco telling me where to look for the sensor and if I could not fix it for me to call a Mobile RV Repair and they would pay Mobile service or reimburse me for any out of pocket cost which I thought was great to hear.

After calling My dealer again to explain still could not squeeze me in they said only third week of Jan. that they are backed up.

Only Today I had a chance and pulled a big portion of the underbelly down and could not find the sensor, Jayco Tech said 2 to 3 feet after the frame drop. Called them back and waiting for a return call. Also will see what they say about the crack that I forgot to mention it in my last call.

Regards,

ER

Hi:

Today spoke with another Jayco Tech. First Tech gave me wrong area to look at. Second tech info was it was mounted center behind the wheels. There is an opening by the spare tire. After lowering the spare and taking down the panel there it was.

Now after speaking with LCI trying to find out if that is the problem.

Will post again once I get details.

Also they will advise on the crack.

Regards,

ER
