20 amp circuit breakers at home

My friend is using their trailer while their home is being built ...on one 20 amp circuit from an outlet in the garage they're limited as to what can be run on electric so on the days when the air conditioner is needed other things can't be used .....
I'm trying to think of an easy way to make use of a second 20 amp circuit without cutting a bunch of extra holes in the trailer to feed a power chord in there

I really cold weather, when I wanted to use two electric heaters, I have slipped a heavy duty extension cord through my slide seal. On my unit it is a tight fit, harder to get out than to get in.

Sounds like there's power at the job site so I would consider adding a 30amp disconnect (or 50amp if that's what trailer needs) to let the trailer have the power it (the trailer) needs rather than "scabbing" in something. My experiences with construction jobs, is that it goes on for a lot longer than planned! Every-time!

There's no power water or septic tank at the job site and probably won't be for at least other month... this friend has her trailer parked in our driveway at my house.... I think running an extension cord along the slide out seal might work as I can only already see daylight through there .......she just bought this trailer more or less sight unseen but everything seems to be working ......I suspect the most likely thing she'd want to run while the air conditioner was on is the microwave convection oven..... I'm guessing you could go in the cupboard behind that and unplug it and then get the extension cord to that point might be a little unsightly but if you really want to cook while the AC is going that is one option

Burnhaven, sorry I misunderstood your first post that it's at your house! Yes to the extension cord. However, please be careful about the size of cord being used as the majority of cords I see being sold are either 16 gauge or 14. It is hard to see on the side of the cord as most of the time it's stamped as an indentation or with paint/die that gets wore off real quick. Go with a 12 gauge minimum for your piece of mind.

I worked on the service end in the RV industry for a few years. I have seen/heard of people running their RVs AC while plugged in to shore power on a 15 or 20 amp circuit. I will even admit to doing so myself a few times. I know many people and myself have never had a problem doing to. However, having dealt with repairing, and having talked with directly with manufacturers of both Dometic and Coleman; they say do NOT!! run your AC on anything less than a 30 amp plug it. It can damage the system and/or damage other systems in the RV. The most common issue I regularly saw from running an AC on less than dedicated 30amp power was burned out capacitors. If you are going to run on a 15 or 20 amp circuit I highly recommend installing a 'hard start' capacitor.
Like I said, I admit to doing it myself even knowing what I know. However, with that said, if I am doing so and it does cause damage to my rig, I am the guy that will stand up and accept the responsibility and consequences of my actions.

Is there a way to take extension cords from 2 separate 20AMP outlets and run them parallel to get enough amps for an air conditioner? Never mind ...probably unsafe and violating codes ......generator makes a lot more sense
