2014 Jayco 5th wheel 29.5 bhds

We recently purchased Jayco camper with 21foot awning. When awning is extended out the door rubs the awning. Is anyone else having this problem and how did you fix it?

I roll mine back up about 3" from all the way out.....put the flapper right at the bottom of the tube. Gives me about 2" of clearance on mine.

I just brought my 29.5BHDS home. So far with awning out it hasn't touched the door. Close though. I can see if you tilt it for rain in the front it will probably hit. My rear living did it too on the back end of the awning.

you could put a little rolling wheel in the top of the door, that's what we did with our old trailer, if you had the awing all the way down for rain or some wind the door would rub, the wheel just stopped the hard metal from dragging on the awning.

Are the arms of the awning not adjustable? Mine will only rub in the lowest position.

I'm currently on the maiden voyage with my BHDS. The door didn't touch the awning when I had it at home. But now that I'm out it touches it just barely. Another 1/8 of an inch and it wouldn't. I don't know if something is out if level or why it does now. Anyways, we usually leave the door open and it doesn't touch at that point so I don't believe it'll be an issue.

29.5 rks

On our 2014 29.5 rks the awning clears the top of the door unless tilted to the front for runoff.
