2015 Eagle Premier Wheels

I am buying a 2015 375BHFS. First thing I am doing is changing the tires. I’ve decided on Sailuns but not sure if the wheels are rated for 110 PSI. The fifth wheel is 4 hours away so I can’t look at the stamp on the wheel. I’ve read on here that not all 8 lug wheels are rated to 110 PSI. I’ve towed s lot and always run max pressure. Not looking for a debate on that. Does anyone know for sure?

Well our 2015 probably has the same wheels and I am running Sailuns @110 PSI with no problems in 3.5 years. 8 hole 16" alumn wheels. 7000# Dexter axles. willing to bet you will have no issues. Our configuration is a typical Jayco for that model year

I found this:

If your valve stem has the rubber all the way up to the threads, then it will likely be rated around 65 psi. If there is some reinforcement between the rubber and the threads, then your valve stem can be rated between 80 and 100 psi. The only valve stems that are rated for more than 100 psi are metal ones that bolt on. If your wheels do not have metal valve stems then they will not be able to hold the pressure of 110 psi that you require.

Our ‘13 Premier had Tredit T03 rims IIRC and were rated for 80psi. I replaced them with 110psi rims shortly after upgrading the tires to G’year G614’s.

That's correct info on valve stems.
As far as wheels are concerned, I purchased a matching wheel for my 2017 375BHFS. I was told by my friend who has been working at discount tire for many years AND the manufacturer of the matching wheel for my trailer that the wheels are 8 lug wheels and are good for a G rated tire that holds 110psi with metal valve stems. Our 375's had an available "upgrade" to G rated tires from the factory. 6 lug wheels are good for 80psi max.

My factory China bomb tires are getting replaced this month with Goodyear Endurance. They are on sale at discount tire this month. They are an E rated tire and are real close to the same 3640# weight specs of the China bombs that are on there. The Goodyears have a higher speed rating too.
My dad just purchased a set for his tandem axle deckover trailer. He said the worst tire balanced out at 1.5oz of weight on it, outside the rim and inside and the weights were 180* apart from each other. Pretty impressed.

We have a 2015 Eagle Premier (see sig).

The rims that came with the trailer are Aluminum Alley 16x8" 8 Lug Rims; 3,580# MaxRating; 80 PSI Max, as stamped on the rims.

I'm running Maxxis M8008 ST235/80R16E 16" 3,420#@80PSI on the trailer. Upgraded from the OEM Towmax Power King ST235/80R16E tires. Had tread separation on 2 of the OEM tires in their 2nd season of use. I replaced all tires when that happened with the Maxxis. I couldn't afford to switch out the rims to allow me to go with Sailuns tires.

I've been running the Maxxis since Sept. 2015 without any problems.

When I did the tires I also put metal valve stems on to support the TPMS sensors.

I anticipate I'll need to replace the tires in another year or so and when I do I'll either stay with the Maxxis or go with Goodyear Endurance.

Hope this helps.

Can I ask why you removed the Goodyear's? The came on my 2018 North Point. I was told they were petty good tires?

Thanks

Vic

I removed the GoodYears and put back on the TowMax tires that I had replaced. The TowMax tires were originals on the unit. Sold the unit. After blowing out all 4 tires, that is why I replaced them. At my employment we use and contracted the brand GoodYear tire for our fleet.
