2015 Jayco 33.5RETS 5th Whl

HELP Has anyone winterized this type of 5th whl. The water pump is in the back of the unit and the water heater is midway. How do you get to the water heater shut off valves? I called Jayco service dept. They were not sure how to reach the valves. They suggested the vet under the freg or behind the wall in the storage compartment. If anyone has any idea how to winterize my unit......HELP. What was Jayco thinking in designing this unit????????

I have the 2014 33.5 and the water heater bypass valves are right behind the water heater. Pull the vent out from under the fridge, and you should see the water heater and the bypass valves right inside of there. You low point drains are behind the square access panel in the storage compartment by your city water and black tank flush hookups. Make sure those two valves are closed.

Rotate the valves on your water pump and stick the end of the hose in a jug of antifreeze and turn your pump on. make sure all faucets are closed. It will suck antifreeze into the system until it's pressurized. Open all hot and cold faucets, flush toilet some, run hot cold on outside shower, run some antifreeze through black tank flusher, then shut off pump to relieve pressure and push in the city water check valve for a few seconds. I dump some more antifreeze down each drain to be sure p-traps are full and there is plenty of antifreeze against dump valves. Antifreeze is cheap, apply it liberally.

Correction, shut off pump and then open a faucet to relieve pressure, then push in your city water check valve. This way you will not get sprayed with antifreeze. I also unscrew the hot and cold water fittings that attach to back of water heater, just to make sure that there is no water sitting in them, then I screw them back on. I just winterized this unit for the first time last night. I took my time and I'm pretty sure it's ready for cold cold weather. Will find out in the spring I guess!
