Maybe no help at all but.... On electric, our water heater seems to take significantly longer to heat.

Is your TT plugged into a shore power pedestal, or hooked up to a running generator when you try the water heater on electric? Electric water heating requires 120 VAC power to operate.

Is there a separate rocker switch on the water heater itself? Open the outside access door and take a look in the lower left hand corner area. Just a thought.

Jflightrisk- there is no rocker swith on the outside. My old one had that switch.

Interesting that I don't have electric or gas now. Everything else on gas works fine

Every time I get a propane fill, I have to run a stove burner for a few minutes to bleed the purge the gas line, then the Water Heater starts right up.

As far as the electric... there are SOOO many things that can cause that. I presume that you have normal water pressure from the hot faucett, just no hot water?

How old is the water... could the electric element gone out?

The water heater was drained and flushed prior. Logan that makes sense for the electric but does that also keep the gas from lighting if the element is out?

This might not be of much help, but he does say all water heaters have a rocker switch at the water heater. In the video they show one on the back of the heater where the electrical connection is.

Hot water issues

No, the element is part of the electric part of the hot water.

This is for testing a Suburban Water Heater...

These are for the Atwood...

This was embarrassing, I've done it...

Here is one on troubleshooting...

Hope that something here might help!

Mystery solved. Geez My neighbor disconnected the circuit board and didn't tell me while I was out of town. He suspected bad storms. I just didn't see it when I looked at it.bit was pretty obvious though. Thanks for all of your help! ...PS the wife is happy that she gets to take a shower now.

I'm curious as to why your neighbor disconnected the circuit board on your water heater. Previous incident?

I am not really sure. We talked this morning and I told him my issue he came over with a test light when he got off work. then I saw him hooking the clips back up to the circuit board. I am like Stan what are you doing. Well I am hooking your damn circuit board back up. Shaking my head. I'm like ok I have nearly pulled what little hair I have left out. Had the service tech on the phone you guys etc. going all day. He said it was storming and he disconnected it while we were 500 miles away. I guess you have to do this? I feel kinda dumb I didn't even see the wires there. Geez what a lesson this was. Wife was on my back cause she needed a shower to go to town..well now I am enjoying a nice cold beer with Stan.

Well it may have been miscommunication and overkill but you learned some lessons.

I am too! I have never done that in all the years we have had electronic ignition and gas/elec water heaters and have never had a problem. We have been through some hellacious storms.

Grumpy,

I'm thinking Stan was playing a joke and it went father then intended.

In 18 years of RVing I have never worried about my Hot Water Heater in a storm.
