Rock, I could make them work on the carefree. I keep mine tilted as well. Hard to explain how I'd do a carefree without doing one though. I've studied a few recently.

If u could that would be great. I have looked closely at mine and where the roller connects to the cowling with motor also seems like another week link. If u attack a bracket to the support arm it almost looks like a heavy wind would rip the roller from the support arm. That is why I am cutting the 2x6 to fit around the roller and than tie the roller to the ground. I am glueing a second piece of 2x6 just below the roller cut out. So basically I will have a2x6 about eight inches with the bottom four now a 4x6. This will give me the thickness to drill a 5/16 hole in three inches. Than A one inch in one inch. That pole will than be able to fit and screw into the hole and I will pin it in place. So I will have four poles with the chunk of wood connected. The poles u said to get are heavy duty and I like how they lock when adjusted. So if at my camp I can adjust to fit my deck or traveling adjust to fit the land slope. Carefree makes some nice heavy duty awnings but Jayco went with a flimsy model they do not sell to the public just RV manufactures. Maybe one day they might wake up and offer us options like the armor coated roofs from the factory.

Please post pictures when you get it done. Why they go with Carefree on that rig and A&E on a Jayflight beats me. You'd think the Jayflight would have the flimsy one. I too wish they'd offer options like Flex Armor. Only one manf. I know of was offering a sprayed roof like that, and they're off the playing field (Excel). All the good ones in my opinion are gone.

Will do. Hope to get it done next week while my cap gets painted from the dealer accident. So hopefully I get it back around May 7th. When I am in my mountain camp for two months I am not going to roll up awnings everyday when I lv. On my TT after the poles were secured the awning stayed out the whole time.

Big John, can you measure how far your Dometic extends. I had the A&E on my SOB and I'm sure it extended further than this Carefree.
I told someone that and they thought I was crazy.

Thanks Rock... I took a look at it and it gets sealed 6" below it by that seal that is attached to the trailer the length of the slide.
But I will still caulk it.

See in my picture there is a mud line about an inch up from the bottom on the white aluminum, and it's clean above... That's where the seal hits.

I hate to tell u this but mine is two inches bigger than yours. Lol. I just measured my main and it is 8 ft from wall straight out to the outside of roller. As flimze as the care free is made I really like the shield that is on it. When fully closed it protects the canopy fabric. The other thing I have noticed with my TT everytime it rained driving or in storage everytime I unrolled water would run out and u got a musty smell. The carefree has been dry I just wish it was the good model and not the money saver one
