Well now we know Rock has the 'big one'!
Not only do I have the smallest head but also the smallest awning too.
7'6"

I thought I was at least a 16" shy from my SOB's A&E.
I guess I'm crazy, unless Big John is unusually small.

I do love the fact I don't get that skanky smell anymore with the cover when rolled up.

I gotta have a sense of humor with what I have dealt with. FW goes for the cap paint tomorrow and said will be done by Thursday but I will pick it up next Saturday. I did notice something today and I will see how long it lasts. I bought a spray can of foaming slide seal called Sealsaver. It says uv and reduces friction. I did both main slides inside and out except for the top since I have slide toppers. My Schwintec kitchen always started to groan and slow mid way. That did not happen this time. I know people recommend baby powder in a sock and rub it down the seals. I always think that is good but what happens when it gets wet. Anyway it seemed to help.

On ur pic of the slide mine is the same way with the seal and a dirt line below it. But that open wood will draw moisture and look at your outer slide lower trim moldings when open. On my TT the water would run down the slide and go under and than into the moldings that were not sealed. I just talked with AZ who has my same unit and he has drivin in over several thousand miles of heavy rain. He now has a rotten floor and will more than likely taking it to the factory for repairs. Close ur slides and look into the wheel well area. Seal every staple, Seam and around the metal rock guard.

What was happening to your TT is why I had to take my CedarCreek back to the factory. Not only was water getting into spots like you mentioned from running down the sidewall and surface tension taking the water under the slide, but the OSB wood floor edge was completely exposed under the sidewall. It had some black paint on the edge and the exposed bottom was painted with it too...no Darco fabric (Darcko is that black tarp-like material you see under your slide). I laughed at them when they tried to tell me it was some kind of super waterproof OSB coating. (I am a custom home builder, I am very familiar with OSB)

Anyways, 2.5 years out of warranty and actual mushrooms growing out of the end grain of the floor, mold on the carpet and the air bed in the couch that touched the floor all mouldy, CC rebuilt all the slide floors and did a very nice job. It was actually better then the NorthPoint is.

Ya..I think I'll seal those staples too. Also I'll have to knock in all the misfires too.

Slide out end caps solves all those issues. Tucks under the bottom molding, then 90's under the slide about 8". No water issues. Even with the Darco, or anything else they use, they run the dang screws up through the floor leaving exposed wood as a wick. DUMB. Slowly, you're starting to see a few manf. use these end caps. Of course that was after several years of them denying there was a problem. Cedar creek was one of them. I've posted it before, but can again if anybody needs the info. Majestic Formed Plastics is who made mine.

Yep... That's how they fixed mine, Darco with the end caps.

Here's a link to the brackets I have for sale now. I have 2 sets available if anybody is interested. This is a direct bolt on for the Dometic 9100 power awning.

Anyone who does not get those brackets is a fool. Wish I could do that with the carefree but it is to flimsy. I made my wood brackets for the roller and will screw the poles in and glue in place. No where as convenient but once tied down the awning will stay out when gone for the day

Wish I could find a tester. All the rigs I work / have worked on just don't have the carefree. I want so bad to get one and install these.

Rock, you posting from a phone? I know when I try to post pictures from the iPhone, I'll attach several and only one will make it. Laptop, don't have that problem.

Ok so at least I know it is not me. You could make a bracket to the carefree support arm. The problem I see is where the arm attaches to their motor and motor to awning. It is mounted so it moves all around when you are rolling the awning. So to me it seems u could put supports on the arm but the motor and roller would rip off. Next time ur camping look at that if u find a Jayco with the longitude awning. I have not removed the big cowling from the motor to see how it is connected but has to be like a u joint coupling
