2017 Eagle HT 30.5MBOK

Going to go check this unit out this weekend. I think my 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 should be capable of hauling this unit. Anyone have this fifth wheel? Looks like it has everything we are looking for and I would not have to upgrade my truck.

You need to look at the payload capacity of your truck,{Sticker on the door jamb]. The unloaded pin weight on that unit is 1800lbs. Loaded your probably looking at 2100lbs. I like that floorplan too.

So is there something on the door sticker that tells me the pin weight?

Sorry if that was confusing. There should be a sticker on the door jamb of your truck which should read something like this: Passengers, cargo etc should not exceed XXXXlbs. That's the payload capacity of your truck. That # is what your truck is designed to haul, not tow. For example, lets say your payload # is 2400lbs. That figure generally includes you and a full tank of gas only. So given that 2400lbs you must subtract loaded pin weight, hitch weight, extra passengers, stuff in the bed etc. If you exceed this # you will be technically overloaded. Ex: 2400lbs-1800lbs [pin weight]-100lbs [hitch weight]-100lbs [wife] plus anything else you load in the truck like firewood etc. In this scenario you would have 400 lbs to play with.

Weigh your truck ready to go and subtract that from the 8800. That will be your pay load/amount of pin weight. Then weigh the truck and trailer together. That will tell you how much weight is on the axles and you can subtract the truck weight with and without the trailer to get your pin weight. Cat scales will let you do two weigh ins per ticket cost. I weigh, drop the trailer in the parking lot and go on the scales again to figure all the weights.
