2017 Jayco Eagle Problem w/Stabilizer Jacks Too Low
Hello, I recently purchased a 2017 Jayco Eagle HT and the rear stabilizer jacks hang too low. The place I purchased them assured me my hitch and connection are all correct, and are unwilling to acknowledge the jacks hang too low. They hit the road as I drive or make turns. Has anyone else experienced this issue? It can't be right?! Please help. Thank you!

If your unit is not riding level then you are nose high which will cause that problem.

Congratulations on the new Eagle and welcome to the forum.
Sorry, but first are you sure the stabilizers are FULLY retracted? Are they mechanical or electrical jacks? How level is your trailer? If you are 'nose high', that means the rear is lower.
I don't recall anyone on this site with an Eagle having a problem like that*. What model Eagle do you have? Can you post a photo or a measurement from the frame down to the bottom of stabilizers?
EDIT: * Correction. Folks with the auto stabilizers have reported similar problems.

The rear auto level stabilizers are electric and the whole jack is too long. It rides around 3-4 inches above the pavement and hits the ground when going over small bumps. The hitch and trailer are set up correctly.

Those jacks are typically bolted on a bracket that has adjusting holes. You might be able to raise the jacks.
Most trailers have extra holes in the spring hangers that can be used to raise the trailer up or down. You might have that feature and can raise the whole trailer up.

I have only had the trailer since the 23 of dec so I would think I wouldn't have to wrench on it but I am fully Capable. The bracket might be able to be raised about 2 inches; however it still won't be enough. Based on the tire flex and suspension flex the stabilizers will need to be raised a lot. And the whole suspension of the trailer being raised might be possible; however at what point does it be come unsafe with a high center of gravity.

I'm curious how the hauler got that trailer to the dealer without damaging it? Was it a dealer install by chance?
That definately isn't right and they need to be raised on the brackets.

I have no clue if the dealer installed it. The guy Jeff told me it's perfectly normal when I asked why they were so low. And it can only be raised on the bracket about 1 -1.5 inches

I'd send a photo to Jayco. There is no way that is normal or right.
My rams are easily twice that high and are mounted somewhere near the middle of the bracket. I will walk out and measure the length of the ram for you. Yours look longer but mine may just be up under the skirting higher.

The ram is about 21" from the top of the motor to the bottom of the black tube. I was mistaken about the mounting location as mine are mounted as low as they could go as well using the top holes.

It also appears you have a brake wire hanging rather low as well...

Well I called the dealer I bought it from richardsons and tried to explain the issue and since the service dept was closed they didn't want to listen to me. I told the sales person I am cancelling the check and returning the trailer and he replied "Do what you gotta do." Anyone in there right mind knows it's not right. The standard curb height is minimum of 6 inches high.

Take a deep breath. I'm sure they will be able to take care of it. It really just looks like they need to be raised.

Looking at the Installation Manual, it says 7" Clearance. The manual also talks about 2 different stroke lengths too and you may have the wrong size. Take a look at http://www.lci1.com/assets/content/s...ion_Manual.pdf

Low Jacks
Time to call Mayco-- Ops I mean Jayco. Service@jayco.com is their email I believe, if not their Web Site has contact info. If the Dealer has brushed you off, indicate that to Jayco. Some food for thought from a Salty Old Sailor, you can get more with "Honey than Vinegar". Attitude is everything.

Low Jacks
Would be interested in hearing the "Paul Harvey", i.e.,the rest of the story on this issue. Good info for others to watch for when purchasing a new Jayco.
