2019 Jayco Eagle 321RSTS

On Sunday 8-11-19 my wife and I decided on a brand new 5th wheel. 2019 Jayco Eagle 321RSTS. The unit was prepped and ready for the morning of Saturday 8-17-19, But running the AC through the night, that morning the tech found a blown main board to the rear AC unit. They replaced the main board and told us about it during our walk through. Sunday 8-18-19 about noon we were packing and getting ready for a trip. Same AC quit working. We delivered it to the dealership by 4pm that Sunday and got a call from the tech the next day. He suspected the Control board/thermostat issue. I said we have 10 days to our trip. I just want this repaired right. Saturday 8-24-19 They still had not even looked at it. That afternoon the came back saying it was not the thermostat. Not sure what it is. Sunday 8-25-19, My question is... is there an ongoing problem with these? Could it be a bad compressor motor or capacitor on the motor shorting this out? Maybe a service bulletin put out? Frustrated. We paid A LOT for this thing to go on a trip that begins in 4 days, Thursday 8-29-19. No not Jayco's fault, but frustrating that it sat for a week untouched and now scratching heads.

Has anyone had the rear unit go out and if so what was it and what fixed it? Not starting a bashing thread, Want to know what may be going on and how to fix this.

We have a 2017, no problem with our unit.
Sorry to hear the dealer is not being responsive, could be as simple a fuse or something.
I’m sure you’ll love your new unit once your on your trip.

No similar issues with my 2019 I just picked up. Just one of those bad luck things. Just be glad you found this at home and not on your trip. Hopefully they can figure it out. I’d be frustrated too.

We had same situation. Got our 2020 FBOK home and found out the main AC unit was not working. Found out there was no power going to the unit. I replaced the breaker and it fired right up. Good luck.

Ours was working during prep for delivery. Blew the main board. Replaced that before delivery. It was working in the driveway the very next morning cooling down the trailer so we could load up. Wife had even been working out there cleaning up what the dealership had missed. Went back out after a quick lunch and it had got warm out there. Fan would run high and low. But no AC.

Edit: Front AC would run. But that small one is not designed to cool that 37 foot wagon in this Arizona heat.

Sorry that you are having that problem we have a 2019 and don't have that problem on ours but then again we only use it twice and when we were out it wasn't hot so we didn't use it. We are going around the second week of next month so we will see.

Your setup is pretty level so what kind of hitch do you have and is your Ford a 3/4 or a 1 ton?

F250 superduty 6.2L gas. The hitch is by Convert-A-Ball and is a gooseneck adapter. Only weighs 90LBS, 5 inches of vertical hieght adjustment, no giant hitch in the truck when unhooked. 8 inch offset so no need for a slider. And was under $400.00 delivered.

We have camped over 100 days with our 2019 in very hot weather and have had no problems. Ask your dealer to replace the AC unit. Very fast fix.

I very much hope this to be a very quick fix and a replacement. #1 problem is when I took it back the day after puchase, it has now sat 9 days without being fixed. 7 days without even being looked at for a problem that started before delivery. Not a Jayco problem at this point. Dealership just needs to get to it. Already been on the phone with Jayco customer service this morning and hope to hear back some good news later today.

I've never seen a hitch like that. Does it have much front to back pivoting abilities? Looks very rigid.

Interesting hitch. I too have never seen anything like that. I agree with the above statement about a new ac unit. It would be a plug and play replacement.

No pivot. There is a sleeve that clamps onto the king pin. This set screws to that sleeve. Then bolts up onto the pinbox. It does have a built in hydrolic cussion inside the tower for a real smooth ride. With a kit the MorYde was disabled from movement. Very ridgid. But cannot be used with any pivoting or air ride pin box. Got this hitch off Amazon.

And so it is fixed!! Turns out the first replacement main board never got the dip switches checked. New mainboard today and tested. After resetting the dip switches. Ran through multiple cycles and just kept on working. Will pick it back up in the morning tomorrow and have 2 1/2 days to tinker with it getting our thing put in and a couple of simple mods in the storage area. Putting in straps to hold folding tables and chairs against the wall. Quick build of a hastey flag pole out of PVC that can be stowed and a few other minor tasks. Then we head out Friday or late Thursday evening for a 4 day boondock with a large group from church.

I suggest you check with Jayco regarding this hitch. It might void your warranty. The one Reese sells does not but have heard other styles do.

Would watch that hitch very closely, almost lost my trailer after hitting my brakes hard to avoid a accident, found the trailer hitch plate above the pin was tore up and front flange was the only part of the hitch that was still attached to the trailer, as the hitch on 5th wheels are not constructed for a gooseneck attachment, be very cautious.
