2019 North Point frame stiffner failure

This frame stiffner which is suppose to prevent the frame from flexing failed at the weld joint. The front became unattached, and the rear has failed weld joints as well. Unit is just over 2 yrs old. Anyone else experienced this ?

Yikes. I don't have any answers or advice. Did they come loose while under movement? Any tire damage?

Wow, not good, so what did the dealer say about it?

Dealer is going to try to get Jayco to cover it under suspension warranty. I'm having a reputable frame shop near me repair it. This failed due to a bad weld.

No damage...actually discovered it while changing a tire that developed a bubble (probably a pothole)

Dealing with the same thing right now. In my case the front bar weld failed and in investigating it after my daughter saw sparks while following us, I discovered that the rear one completely failed and is totally missing.

Jayco denied it as warranty service and referred me to Lippert. Submitted a request using their website and received a response that they would respond in 24-48 hours.

Still waiting but because of the holiday I’m not going to call them until tomorrow.

Caught mine before it completely failed, cracked on one side. Borrowed a welder while on the road and did a good field fix. Found the other side cracked at a later date and fixed that, too.

Haven’t seen cracking on the rear one... yet.

This was the fix for the cross bars. There are 3 of them, front, middle, back.

This is Jayco's new design. This is a pic of a 2021. Not sure if they changed it in 2020
Sorry about the image being rotated.

Okay their is a guy on the YouTube Channel, I think it's BTBRV had Lippert come to his new 5th wheel and had them do them the same kind of fix, I guess that they are going to start doing all that way, I guess. It look good and glad that you got this taken care of.

Am I missing something? In the above photo, there is no cross member stiffener - and that setup is exactly like the one on my 2017 rig except my hangers are longer with a 2nd hole (of which my springs / shackles are already moved down to).

I'm a firm believer that these rigs take the most abuse when we try and turn them on a dime when parking them - the front axle is being slid one way, and the rear axle the other - immense forces on the hangers. I'd rather do a forward / reverse shimmy a couple times vs. try and pivot about the equalizers.

My suggestion is to ditch the poorly executed factory braces and install the MorRyde X-Factor braces.

As expected, after sending a write up and pictures of the frame cross member failure to Jayco, this was the response.
" Lippert holds the warranty on the frame. Your warranty with us has expired. I have added Lippert to this email so they have and can review this information, they are the manufacture of the frame."
Since there was NO acknowledgement that Jayco has ANY responsibility in this, I believe they know there's an issue, and are avoiding any statement that they are aware of it.

I had the same issue on my 2018 NP. Had them welded again, but getting the Morryde IS system in November so they only have to hold until then...

Did Lippert take care of yours. As of a few days ago I received an email from Lippert that they will reimburse me for the fix. So, I am currently waiting for the check.

No stiffner..so, the design is evolving. One would hope some testing or stress analysis ( most computer aided design has that ability) was done...but I'm guessing not. While the cross members are a good idea, these were poorly implemented, in my opinion.
