There are some fuses inside the panel but since the system is operating digitally, it does not seem to be a problem with the fuse. All other switches on the manual panel are operating perfectly.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

Sounds like a blown fuse, to me. I had a similar situation with my 5er a few months back. Everything worked with the touchscreen, but a few things would not with the manual switches. I found a 15A fuse to be blown. Once replaced, everything worked as designed. Keep us updated on your findings.
