I agree. An F350 won't cost that much more and you'll have the payload capacity you need. F250 diesels have very low payload numbers.

What he said. I have the Ram 3500 SRW. I love it. A DRW would be better but it's not for me. We have the 355mbqs and payload on the 2018 3500 is 4200 lbs. 20's and 21's may even be more.

What "Dave" said. With the fiver you are getting you are going to be at least in the 2500 lb pin range at a minimum when you are loaded and a tow weight close to 15,000 lb I would want a 350 DRW. If you are going full time you will probably need the larger truck. You will always be carrying 4 people and full timing means more stuff that you will want to have with you. Fuel mileage will be very close to the same and you would pleased with the towing experience of a DRW. If you ever tow with a DRW there is an obvious better, more stable ride than a SRW.

Thanks everyone! Will be doing way more research as I have months before home from deployment and need to sell my house. Good thing I have time to do it! I ready don't want a drw. I won't be full time moving around for almost 2 years since I still in the army. So thinning of f350 sdw and take trips to find out if I should upgrade. It will also be the family vehicle so another reason I don't want drw.

Pin weight on my 355mbqs is 3100, CAT scale weighed and I have the Ram 3500 SRW. Like I said earlier the SRW is great for us. We just got back from a run from San Antonio to Kansas City and return. Return trip for two days was one day 35-40 mph headwinds and 2nd day was 35-40 mph tailwinds and some crosswinds at times. I got rid of white knuckle driving when I traded in my Ram 1500 for the 3500 SRW! Again, DRW does more stable towing but it's not for us.

Well, thank you for your service and stay safe I did twenty-eight years in the Army.
