24RE travel mode?

When an HT 24RE is in "travel mode" with the slide in, can you access the kitchen area? Seems like either the dinette or free-standing table may block access due to the kitchen island design?

Maybe with the free-standing table you can move it sideways to provide more room to pass?

Thanks!

Whoops, something happened. Here's the link https://youtu.be/P03CTS2AvC0
Nice 5th wheel too. Congratulations. What are you pulling it with and which hitch did you get?

Thanks, was looking for an actual owner's experience while traveling... I like Josh's reviews but that's not enough info for me. Of course, the best thing to do is to crawl through an actual unit on a dealer's lot

Opps, I think this is the same video noted above

I do agree that crawling through is the best. I'm looking for a 27RL, or maybe the 27RS and have not been able to locate one anywhere near me. Best I can find are videos. Josh is one of the few YouTubers that actually opens almost everything up, and shows them in their closed travel condition.

Good Luck

The free standing table is not free standing. It's screwed to the slide floor. Like Josh said the free standing table is worse because the table height is the same as the counter. Where as you can lower the booth table down for access.

We just received our 24RE a year after ordering. Josh made a mistake and I pointed it out to him regarding his video. We have the booth dinette. If you put the table down for travel mode you CANNOT scoot by like he showed (he accidently left the slide open a few inches-that was my feedback). What you can do is either 'knee' your way across the table and cushions to get to the other side. Or, you can move the seat cushions out of the way and lift up the table and step through the gap. If the table is in the up position for travel, you cannot simply lift the table up from there to get by because the countertop interferes. Hope this helps.

Congratulations, you have your new camper!
Now the fun begins. Have you made reservations somewhere yet?

Thanks. Traded in the Cougar for this smaller unit. May head downeast if we can sort out our AC problem first. May even cut through your state. Hwy 2 is what we normally use. I noticed you have the Overlander 2 as well. Isn't it interesting, at least on our unit, that they jammed the solar controller behind the wiring panels in the underbelly of the trailer? I need to install a disconnect switch for when we remove the battery for winter.

Since we have Overlander II maybe there's no need to remove the battery? See this youtube video: https://youtu.be/ITQ1eE7QYHc

I apolgize for the late response; been on the road until know. I have a 24RE with the free-standing table. The table is bolted to the floor. When the slide is retracted, the table edge abuts the kitchen counter top preventing you from "passing" into the kitchen. You can if need be, open the slide a foot or as I do rarely when need be, crawl on the floor through the table's pedestal base and the kitchen counter's side wall.
